El Espacio On Ocho
A retrofitted Cuban strip mall... with art initiatives
Located In the heart of Miami, FL on the famous Calle Ocho street of Little Havana and next to Miami's iconic landmark, Versailles Cuban Restaurant. The space was formerly occupied with Cuban style bodegas such as the original Farmacia Luis that occupied the building's corner.
El Espacio was used as an art space for an Art Basel concurrent exhibition, "Wayside of Versailles" in December 2017.
For the 2018 exhibition "La Bodega y Mas," El Espacip reopens to highlight Good to Know’s storefront project.
Outside from the ABMB exhibition, the space is closed to the public and only accessible for private viewings and projects.
Future plans for El Espacio is in effect as a full multiple use re-development of the strip-mall and block is underway, inclusive of a permanent home and exhibition space for El Espacio to be headed by founder, Alex Valls.
